Questioning 16?

As most of you probably know, my 16th birthday was about two weeks ago. I had a blast. I got a bunch of presents including a cell phone, so I was pretty excited. My dad also took me out on my "first date." (That's what the picture shows, haha I don't know where I get my dork genes from. I love him :) ) It was tons of fun, he took me out to dinner and then over to the Carrie Underwood concert. I loved it. The Friday before my birthday, my mom and friends threw me a surprise party which was great, and then we flew to Texas on the day of my birthday. It was a fun couple of weeks. Although I loved it all, I do not love my age. I really can't comprehend the fact that I am 16, and in only 5 years there's a chance I could be a married woman. Ahhh...5 years ago feels like yesterday to me, and it was only about that long ago that I imagined myself a "big teenager." I thought I would be taller than a 7th grader, weigh a lot more, "develop" more, :) and I certainly thought I would be a million times more mature. I don't even WANT to be this age either. I know most teens would slap me for saying this, because for a normal person it's what they wait for their whole lives, but I'm not eager to date or to drive. I loved my "15 year," and I guess what I'm saying is that I'm not ready to move on.

We watched jaws one night, then went out in the pitch black water, and played a game called Shark Attack. It was so fun, but also very creepy. I was the only girl that played, and everyone kept throwing me off of the tubes as "shark bait."

We fished off of the side of the boat almost every night, we caught tons of catfish, blue gills, and carp. It was fun. (We release all of the fish.)

Lake Powell was so much fun!!! I had such a great time with my family and my neighbors. We spent about a week up there. The house boat was great, and the Lake itself was beautiful. We did tons of fun things (as the pictures show). I'm sad we had to leave, but hopefully we'll get to do it again next year.

I loved EFY this year. Last year was great to, but it doesn't compare for me to this year. Our company was amazing, and we were so close. We were all best friends at the end of the week. We also met another group, outside of our company of some really cute guys. I think Mariah talked about them on her blog. (Oh, and sorry if I repeated some of the pics she put on, I forgot to check.) Anyways, EFY was great. haha. I already said that but it was. It was also amazing on a spiritual level. Last year I felt the spirit, but not as strongly or as intensly as I did this year. Some of the classes hit me so hard. I really feel like my testimony of the Savior grew so much in just one week. I was on such a spiritual high after EFY. I hope it can continue throughout the rest of my life, because I love the feeling. Tay, you HAVE to go, even though we may not get to go with you. You will LOVE it SO MUCH!!!

Sorry, I haven't blogged in a while. Well, summer's here (and it has been for quite some time), and I am super happy. It is great to leave all the school stresses and drama behind me for a few months. This month has been my lazy month. I have not hung out with my friends for a couple weeks. I have just sat at home most of the time reading, doing chores, or stuffing my face with delicious summer snacks. I have been outside, but when I am I'm with my neighbor, Dallin, and my brother/sisters, or laying on my neighbors' hammock. It has been super relaxing, but I'm ready to be back in my PLAYING MOOD. haha. The above pic is of me and a few of my BFFs from school. Another thing that happened this month, was Haley's Birthday. She turned 10...it is so crazy to me that she has grown up so fast. I can't believe she'll be in 5th grade next year. She is turning into such a sweet girl. And, not to mention very cute, she has most of the boys in her class crushin on her. haha!


The last major thing that took place, is my Aunt Suzie's new baby. She had her on June, 8th 2008. She was a little over 6 pounds, and she's 18 1/2 inches long. They named her Piper Joy McGinnis. She is such an adorable little baby. WHAT A CUTE NAME...and especially after seeing the pics of her, I can totally fit that name to her. My mom said that she has super long eyelashes and hair. haha. Her big brother Declan loves her so much. They are such a cute family :)

I am so sad right now, because my bestest buddy in the whole world just left this morning for a long trip. She is going to tour Europe for a whole month, and I am at a loss of what to do during the first month of summer that she is gone. I know shes gonna have loads of fun, but I am going to miss her a lot. It is going to be hard to miss out on our monthly tea parties and dance nights...but i'm glad she's gonna have a fun, exotic vacation. I am also way sad today, because it was year book day at school. It just hit me really hard as I was reading through everyones messages, that I am leaving most of my best friends. They are all going to a completely different high school than me. I was bawling in a couple of my classes, because of how nice and sad some of their notes were. I am almost scared to go to high school and have to make a new start with a new location, and new friends. I can't wait to get out of junior high, but I don't want to leave everyone behind. Hopefully I will be able to keep in touch with them over the summer, and all the years to come.

EFY

This upcoming July, me and Mariah will be setting off on another EFY ADVENTURE!!! I am so pumped for it. We had so much fun last year at the Thatcher Arizona EFY, that we decided to try one up here in Utah. We have not seen eachother in so long, that we are practically jumping out of our skin! We have emailed eachother almost everyday, and somehow, we cannot keep off of the EFY subject. Now, all we have left to complete our excitement, is to get Taylor to come along with us next year...who knows, maybe we can go to CHICAGO!!! :)
